GlaxoSmithKline invites students to submit a short article in the GSK National Hot Topic Award 2012 for the chance to win £500! Topic: "Providing access to healthcare is one of society’s most important social challenges. Discuss the role of the Pharmaceutical Industry in providing sustainable access to medicines for people in the World’s poorest countries." Click here for the official flyer Every year millions of the world’s poorest people die from curable or preventable infectious diseases or suffer unnecessary ill health because they do not have access to basic healthcare services, including essential medicines or vaccines. Access to medicines is a global problem that requires global commitment. Barriers to access vary significantly across countries, depending on poverty and income levels, coverage and quality of healthcare infrastructure, political commitment and the resources allocated to healthcare. The Pharmaceutical Industry is committed to providing sustainable access to medicines for people in the World’s poorest countries. In no more than 2000 words discuss the strategies that could be adopted by the Pharmaceutical Industry to provide sustainable access to medicines for people in the World’s poorest countries. Entry Criteria and Information: Entrants must be current UK based Undergraduate, Masters or PhD students. Articles should be no more than 2000 words including appendices. Diagrams and images will account for 50 words. Any references used should be cited fully using the Harvard system. Entries should be submitted via email to

A number of positions on the BPSA Executive were not filled at the 70th BPSA Annual Conference. This means the incoming Executive, which was elected at Conference, is able to co-opt members into those positions so that as complete a team as possible is able to continue the vital work of the BPSA for another year.

Being on the Executive enables you to be involved in of one of the most dynamic, forward-thinking and diverse teams within the pharmacy profession. You will be part of a team where everyone's views are equal but will be working together for the benefit of pharmacy students and preregistration trainees.

This year EPSA invites you to the heart of Transylvania, to the exciting city of Brasov, Romania. Brasov stands as the crossroads between Western and Eastern Europe, a meeting point of traders and craftsman for centuries and a city where the history speaks volumes about cultural diversity and exchange.
This is the perfect opportunity to develop yourself through peer based and interactive learning, and experience the EPSA spirit!
This event, hosted by the Bucharest Pharmaceutical Students' Society (SSFB), will be held between the 23rd - 29th of July. The fee is 220€ for the first registration period (10th May-10th June) and 270€ from then on.
