Our Supporters

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain |
The British Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (BPSA) is the official student organisation of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB). The RPSGB provides us with support and advice in many ways. As well as financial support, we also receive direction as to how to implement BPSA policy which is determined by our members at Annual Conference. We also attend liaison meetings to ensure the RPSGB are updated on student issues. The BPSA are invited to participate in RPSGB research projects based on issues such as Pharmacy Education. We also represent students by sitting on the RPSGB Education Committee which focuses on all aspects of pharmacy education including content and accreditation of the MPharm as well as the preregistration year and continuing professional development after qualification. The RPSGB help to promote the BPSA at many events such as BPC. The support the RPSGB provides the BPSA ensures that students views are being heard in the wider pharmacy world. |

The Pharmacists Defence Association |
The Pharmacists Defence Association (and its predecessor PIA) has been a major supporter of the BPSA for over 20 years in a variety of ways. This extended to providing a free indemnity scheme to all BPSA preregistration members in the aftermath of the ‘peppermint water’ case and since. The PDA, working closely with BPSA, sponsors and produces the two one day BPSA preregistration conferences each year. In addition, the ‘Graduate Link’ magazine, distributed free to BPSA preregistration members, is substantially supported by the PDA as part of their ongoing sponsorship; see the ‘Graduate Services’ section of this website. Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare |
Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare has supported the BPSA for over fifteen years. The Reckitt Benckiser-BPSA Pharmacy Student of the Year Award is a prestigious award which is adjudicated by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, the National Pharmacy Association, the BPSA and Reckitt Benckiser. The aim of the award is to find a pharmacy student to act as the BPSA official delegate and represent Great Britain at the IPSF Annual Congress. To enter the competition, pharmacy students must complete a questionnaire, which is available in Schools of Pharmacy in January. Six students with the highest scores are chosen by evaluating their tie breakers. These students are then invited to attend an interview at the BPSA Annual Conference where they will be interviewed by a panel of judges. The award for the winner is an expenses paid trip to the IPSF Annual Congress, where they will act as the official delegate. On returning from the conference the winner will produce a report of the conference for the BPSA magazine- The Future Pharmacist. |
