Each year the BPSA hosts a number of educational and social events. From single day Area Conferences to the week long Annual Conference. This academic year also sees the return of the popular Science into Practice Conference. The BPSA also helps organise the preregistration conferences. The first of which takes place in September at the British Pharmaceutical Conference in Manchester, while the second is held in February before the preregistration exams begin.
Most of our events are accredited and this allows students to pick up Professional Development Points (PDPs). By attending the Area Conferences, Annual Conference, or Science into Practice Conference you can collect PDPs to go towards your final Professional Development Certificate (PDC).

The Area Conferences are held twice a year at Schools of Pharmacy within each of the BPSA areas. BPSA members can claim back half of their travel expenses when attending Area Conferences within their area!

Each year, the BPSA Executive organise a network of local area conferences which are held on weekends during the autumn and spring terms. Each conference has a specific theme which is designed to provide information on topics which fall outside your undergraduate education e.g. careers or expand on topics which we think are interesting e.g. the increasing clinical roles of community pharmacy. Conferences usually last a day and you can also gain a PDP for attending which can go towards your total to be eligble for our Professional Development certificate. You will also have the opportunity to meet students from other schools in your area and have a bit of fun!
