The competition consists of a few multiple-choice questions, two longer clinical questions, and a final tie-braker. There are questions from both Reckitt Benckiser and the BPSA. The winner receives an all expenses paid trip to the Internation Pharmacy Student Federation' Annual Congress in Slovenia , with the runner up winning funding towards an EPSA event. There are 22 questions overall covering professional and clinical issues that can shed some light for future years.There is also a final tie-braker to help with the judging process. Six finalists with the highest multiple-choice scores and the best clinical replies progress to the final, which takes place during BPSA Annual Conference in Birmingham in Aril 2010 (3rd to 10th of April 2010). The final takes the form of an interview by a panel consisting of a member of each organization that set the questions. The BPSA representative is last year’s winner. The interview is basically a discussion about the finalists’ views on current pharmacy issues and international co-operation amongst pharmacists.
The Prizes All finalists receive expenses paid day to the BPSA Annual Conference, a framed certificate and a text book. The runner up wins money towards an European Pharmaceutical Students' Association (EPSA) Events of their choice. The winner will receive the certificate, textbook, books for their School of Pharmacy AND the main prize – an all expenses paid trip to the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) Annual Congress. In 2010 the congress will be held in Ljubljana, Slovenia. As an official delegate you will get to meet many pharmacy students from every corner of the globe and together take part in a rage of educational and social activities – a life changing experience and opportunity not to be missed! The winner also gets to keep the competition trophy for a year.
