Students and the New Professional Body |
Following a meeting of TransCom on the 27th August it was announced that both students and preregistration pharmacists should be offered membership to the new professional body.
Through student representation by the BPSA at the Membership working group it has been recommended that undergraduates should be offered direct student membership of the professional body alongside the BPSA. It was also recommended that preregistration pharmacists should be offered associate membership, allowing them access to additional representation and support.
The BPSA has released a press release welcoming the recommendations of TransCom. BPSA President James Davies said: “ We are pleased that TransCom is listening to what students want and are recognising undergraduates and preregistration pharmacists as a vital part of this new professional body” However the BPSA believes that there should be further consideration surrounding the membership offered to Bradford University sandwich students and future integrated degree students. This issue has also been included in the BPSA press release. Click here to see the Press Release from the BPSA |
