This Service Excellence module is about closing consultations and follow up. It will consider the elements required to successfully end a consultation, including ensuring the customer understands their treatment plan and has the opportunity to ask any questions, as well as what to do if something goes wrong.

Objectives

After studying this module you should:

  • Understand the importance of closing consultations appropriately
  • Be able to outline the key structural elements of successful consultation endings so you can offer the best service
  • Be aware of what you can do to ensure the customer understands the information given, especially if they have a problem later on.

About this module

This module is suitable for all members of the pharmacy team who wish to increase their knowledge of communication skills. This module has been endorsed with the NPA’s Training Seal as suitable for use by pharmacy teams as part of their ongoing learning.
