The United KingdoM Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA)

UKCPA

The United Kingdom Clinical Pharmacy Association (UKCPA) encourage, support and promote advanced practice in pharmacy. The UKCPA actively develops clinical pharmacy practice as well as developing individual practitioners, and we are frequently at the forefront of initiatives such as establishing professional curricula, developing professional recognition (credentialing) processes, and developing professional tools and frameworks for practitioners. 

As a member of the BPSA you are eligible for FREE electronic membership to UKCPA, (i.e. you will receive no postal mailings from UKCPA and instead must refer to the UKCPA website for notices and announcements). Once you have been registered make sure to sign up to the general discussion forum board to keep up to date with the latest UKCPA news and events.

Included as part of the UKCPA membership is access to the exclusive area of the UKCPA website (www.ukclinicalpharmacy.org) which hosts discussion forums, where you can post questions and queries as well as read discussions posted by others. It is also possible to contact other UKCPA members via the UKCPA website and gain access to their resources, policies, and presentations.

To join UKCPA, please fill out this form. Please note that all Graduate members will have been emailed their BPSA membership number, please ensure you check your junk mail. For undergraduate members, please use your RPS membership number (on your RPS card or available through the RPS website). Newly qualified BPSA Graduate members will also receive a 50% discount on the first year of membership.

This e-programme explains the importance of teaching good inhaler technique to patients and how it can improve treatment outcomes. This is a good resource to help you with patient counselling in practice.
