Travel Fund

The BPSA International Travel Fund is designed to help members attend international conferences and events. The International Travel Fund is only open to members of the BPSA.

A set number of full- or part-funded places are available for:

  • EPSA events, including Annual Congress, Summer University and Autumn Assembly
  • IPSF events, including World Congress
  • International placements 

EPSA Annual Congress

The BPSA is pleased to be able to offer up to £200 in funding towards the EPSA Annual Congress which takes place in Lyon, France this April. EPSA Autumn Assembly is being held in Lyon, France from the 20th to the 26th of April 2020 on the topic of 'Pharmaceutical (R)Evolution.' 

It’s a great opportunity for students to network with pharmacy students from all over Europe and develop their learning. The event will run from 20th - 26th April 2020. The registration fee will include accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as the educational and social programme. Students must find their own travel to the event.

Registration includes all meals and accommodation plus the full educational and social programme. Registration price is 325 euro for the first registration period of December 1st to February 1st. From February 1st, the registration will increase to 350 euro. You will be responsible to find your own travel to the event. 

Funding is to be used to assist MPharm students and Pre-Registration Pharmacists who would be unable to attend this event without funding support. Before applying for the BPSA Travel Fund, we would encourage you to seek funding support from both your school of pharmacy as well as your Students Union to ensure that this funding goes to students who are unable to attend without our support. 

Please note that the BPSA Travel Fund can only be granted to an individual once per academic year. 

If you are successful in receiving the BPSA Travel Fund, a letter of confirmation will be sent directly to you as well as a copy to your Head of School or Personal Tutor.

Please complete the following form as accurately as possible and provide us with enough detail and information to support your application so that we are able to approve as many applications as possible. 

Successful applicants are required to attend at least 80% of the daily events at EPSA Annual Congress as per the Congress requirements, or the bursary will be retracted.

Successful applicants of the BPSA Travel Fund are expected to represent and uphold the representation of the BPSA when attending events. We also ask that all successful applicants provide the BPSA with an article about their time at the event which will highlight what you have learnt and also what you have gained from the event. 

Applications need to be received before Wednesday 16th December 2019 at 5pm. Any late entries will not be accepted. You will be informed if you have been successful by the 1st January 2020 so that you can complete registration in the first registrations period. 

If you are successful in receiving the funds, we will transfer you the money on receipt of the acceptance letter and also proof of purchase for travel and the registration fee. Anyone who fails to attend the event for any reason will be liable to return the grant, and therefore we recommend that you have adequate travel insurance in place to cover cancellations.
