Events

Annual Conference 

This is the BPSA’s flagship event of the year, with its very own dedicated Annual Conference Organisers on the Executive. Annual Conference is usually our largest event, where competitions come to a conclusion, awards are presented and where elections take place for the next year’s Executive. In addition to this, conference business occurs, where delegates vote on motions which they believe that the BPSA should work on and advocate for over the next three years by voting them into policy. 

Area Events - Conferences

Each year two events (usually conferences) are held in each area, one in Autumn and one in Spring. They usually take place on a Saturday at a university venue in your area. These events are organised and hosted by your Area Coordinators, with each conference having a specific theme. Past themes have included: ‘Mental Health’, ‘Alternative therapies’, ‘The Future of Pharmacy’ and ‘Skills for Success’. Graduate Conferences

The BPSA usually holds at least one Graduate Conference a year in partnership with The Pharmacists’ Defence Association (PDA). This conference is specifically tailored for pre-registration students, with the aim of providing support and guidance for the remainder of the pre reg year. The GPhC considers attending our conferences as a tool for achieving competency A5.2.

Science Into Practice

SiP is an event for anybody looking to further their understanding or prospects in the Scientific Areas of MPharm or the pharmaceutical industry, with speakers from industry and other backgrounds.

Business Into Practice

BiP was held for the first ever time in 2019 and was a huge success. This was an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn about the technical aspects of running a community pharmacy and business. This event is ideal for anybody looking to own their own Pharmacy, work for themselves or climb the corporate ladder.
