Annual Conference Organisers - Maariyah Ahmed and Nelly Azeh
The Annual Conference Organisers are responsible for hosting the flagship event of the BPSA - Annual Conference. Their role involves booking venues and accommodation, organising day events and social evenings, and promoting the conference to BPSA members.
Hi everyone! I’m Maariyah, an MPharm student at the University of Birmingham, and I’m incredibly excited to be one of your Annual Conference Organisers for this BPSA mandate.
One of the things I value most about pharmacy is the variety of opportunities it offers, and I’ve always enjoyed making the most of experiences that challenge me to grow. Exploring different opportunities throughout my degree has shown me how much there is to discover beyond the classroom, and each experience has strengthened my passion for the profession.
As an Annual Conference Organiser, my aim is to create an event that encourages students and trainees to step outside their comfort zones, discover new career possibilities, build meaningful connections and leave feeling inspired to shape their own unique journey within pharmacy. I can’t wait to work with the Executive Team to make this year’s Annual Conference an unforgettable experience for everyone who attends.
Hey everyone,
My name is Nelly, a pharmacy student at the University of Birmingham, and I’m incredibly honoured to have been elected as one of the Annual Conference Organisers for the 2026/27 mandate!
Attending the 83rd Annual Conference in Swansea left me inspired, created lifelong memories, and introduced me to people who have shaped my pharmacy and personal journeys. Returning for the 84th Annual Conference in Nottingham, I had one objective: to bring the Annual Conference to the University of Birmingham, and that is exactly what I plan to deliver and execute.
I was inspired by my experience, and I hope this upcoming conference inspires you too. Who knows — maybe one day you’ll be the next ACO.
I’m excited to work alongside the rest of the executive team to represent, support, and advocate for pharmacy students and trainees across the UK as we continue through every stage of our pharmacy careers !
